It’s not just any party. It’s a lavish celebration in honour of the heroes of nights past, remembered by the heroes of today. The friends and supporters of the Society for Sophisticated Entertainment include all those who know no tomorrow and celebrate every night as if it were their last. For all those for whom no drink is too much and no dress too fancy. Because less is never more and too much is never enough.
There is conversation, drinking and dancing. And how they dance, from Charleston to swing, from tango to step. And not just in pairs. Wildly and solo to their heart’s content. Everyone who enters the golden halls of “Bohème Sauvage” is immersed in a world where the air is full of gold dust, where waltzes are still danced in the early hours of the morning, where the ladies wear fans and the gentlemen wear monocles, where absinthe is not a foreign word.
“Bohème Sauvage” is modern nostalgia. Inspired by the French Belle Époque, the Berlin Roaring Twenties and the American Swingin‘ Thirties, nothing here is staged, but everything is celebrated to perfection. Our guests can expect a detailed ambience and a glamorous stage programme.
While the fine ladies and gentlemen pursue their pleasures in the grand salon, the greats of the underworld gather in the casino to gamble away their last Reichsmarks, meet loose women or conduct their business in the private room. Treat yourself to a drink at the absinthe bar and join the poker, blackjack or roulette table. We look forward to seeing you for another glittering night!
Bohème Sauvage has been taking place regularly since May 2005 in various establishments in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Other locations that have already been visited include Vienna, Zurich, Athens, Jena and Dessau.
Few nightlife events attract such a colourful and diverse crowd as this one. Modern bohemians and bohemians, drag queens, birds of paradise, artists of all colours, dance enthusiasts, pleasure-seekers, bon vivants and „normal people“ – it’s all here, with ages ranging from 18 to 80.
Some guests bring their parents and others their sons and daughters.
Within the framework of the strict dress code, the atmosphere is extremely relaxed. This makes it easy to socialise and make new friends.
Our record entertainers play some crazy sounds. Mainly music that more or less existed ‚back then‘. The party usually starts with authentic sounds, twenties hot jazz, Charleston, ragtime, foxtrot, pop and chanson, swing and gipsy. Gradually, modern recordings of old music are added. In addition to Charleston, swing and hot jazz, you can also hear klezmer, gipsy, Russian folk and Latin sounds such as tango, cha-cha-cha, mambo and rumba. Anything that suits the mood of the evening is allowed.
Dancing is wild and unrestrained, free and frank, as the mood takes you! However, if you know how to dance as a couple, you will have the opportunity to try Lindy Hop, Swing, Charleston, Balboa, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo and more. In order to promote such dances, the programme usually begins with an introductory dance class lasting around 15 minutes.
The motto is: 1920s chic (+/- 10 years) – bohemian, cabaret, dandy, decadent, diva, crook, gigolo, vaudeville. A touch of fin de siècle melancholy, in the twilight of dubious deals and between vaudeville girls and dandies, the bohemian and his kind can enjoy the night. You can also be on a first-name basis with any mafiosi and other crooks on this evening, because you don’t have much to lose except your inflationary Reichsmark.
Whether as a saucy prostitute or an elegant diva, as a ring brother, gallant gigolo or discreet gentleman, Charleston kid or revue dancer – an evening on which you can’t be overdressed enough – a stole here, a pearl necklace there, spats, a pointed moustache… this is how you can indulge in a glass of absinthe while playing poker in a very sophisticated and revealing way.
We would particularly like to encourage the ladies to make creative use of accessories and hats, as well as exciting hair modelling (keyword: water wave) and the use of various make-up techniques (keyword: smokey eyes and pale complexion), We expressly appeal to you not to wear kitschy, glittery and tasteless carnival costumes, plastic items, garish wigs, pink feather boas and anything that is clearly not appropriate for the period between 1890 and 1930.
We expressly appeal to your sense of style and aesthetics. Unfortunately, wearing long hair loose is also completely unfashionable, not to say old-fashioned, in the 1920s. Uniforms and furs are also undesirable, and if you are turned away at the door due to unsuitable attire or accessories, but have already purchased tickets in advance, we are not obliged to refund the ticket price.
By purchasing your tickets, you have agreed that pictures and films may be taken of you on site. A selection of these can later be found on our pages – PICTURES and FILMS – in the global ether. If you do not wish this to happen, please avoid the recording devices if possible. The publication of the pictures and films can take up to a week. If you do not appear in the images or films, even though you have been filmed or photographed, there may be various reasons for this. One reason could be that our dress code has not been adequately complied with. Pictures of guests with inappropriate hairstyles or accessories will also not be published.
There is a general strict ban on photography and mobile phones at all Bohème Sauvage events.
Most of the Bohème Sauvage venues are barrier-free. However, please enquire in advance on the website of the respective venue. Due to the fact that the event location „Wartesaal am Dom“ is a historic building from the early 20th century, the rooms are only accessible to a limited extent. If you have a disabled person’s pass, your companion can receive a free ticket. The dress code also applies to the accompanying person. Please simply contact us!
Oh yes, very much so! We expressly welcome any kind of queerness! The ‚Bohème Sauvage‘ should be a place where everyone can feel comfortable and safe and have a good time together. That is why we do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, anti-Semitism or any other form of discrimination or harassment at our event. Together, we want to create a space where everyone can feel accepted and respected – regardless of gender identity, skin colour, religion, ethnicity or disability. By purchasing a ticket and entering the venue, you agree to our Code of Conduct. Any breach of this may be penalised and result in exclusion from the event. In this case, the ticket price will not be refunded.
Together, we want to create a non-discriminatory, non-judgemental space in which everyone feels welcome and respected – all participants are responsible for this. we do not tolerate any form of discrimination, sexism or racism and reserve the right to exclude anyone from the event if necessary.
Take care of each other: If you feel threatened, harassed or uncomfortable, report it to staff at the entrance or the bar. Even if you see that another person needs help: ask the person concerned, do not leave it to „the others“ to take action. You do not have to explain or justify your experience or observation: only yes means yes: act according to the consensus principle: actions and conversations only take place with mutual consent.
Pay attention to whether the other person is clearly signalling whether he* or she* wants to speak or interact with you, and if you are unsure, you are welcome to ask the other person which pronoun (he, she, they, none at all, …) they would like to be addressed with. Using the wrong pronouns can be hurtful. It is important to us to treat each other sensitively and respectfully and our approach is characterised by intersectionality and recognises that there are people who are affected by multiple discrimination.
If certain topics make people feel uncomfortable, we stand by the person together and remember that everyone has different experiences and therefore reacts differently to sensitive topics or micro-aggressions, for example.we recognise that we are all different and have individual perspectives. We try to understand other people’s points of view and refrain from generalisations and stereotypes („typically male, typically female“).we all make mistakes. If people use discriminatory language or ways of thinking, we try to make them aware of this through constructive criticism. We ask that when people give you constructive criticism, you are open to it and listen.BIPoC and other marginalised groups are not responsible for educating other people.
However, there are good organisations that you can contact and that can provide you with information material, book recommendations and link tips.we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding discrimination – if an incident is reported, the perpetrator will receive a verbal warning and the reasons will be explained. Depending on the nature of the incident or repeated incidents, the person will be removed from the event and banned from the premises (permanently). This policy applies to all visitors, artists and staff present, and we do not tolerate staff or artists with a known and proven history of sexual or discriminatory violence.
The ticket price includes admission to the event (plus fees for external transaction partners) and 50 million Reichsmark play money for the casino. Cloakroom, drinks, accessories from the vendor’s tray or other services (e.g. photo studio, quick drawings, etc.) are charged separately.
In addition, we offer a strictly limited ticket including a 3-course „Surprise“ menu (choice: meat * fish * vegetarian) as an overture for the evening event in the neighbouring restaurant „Wartesaal am Dom“.

Tickets that have already been purchased and paid for cannot be cancelled/revoked, as tickets for events are a service in connection with leisure activities (Section 312g (2) sentence 1 no. 9 BGB). This also applies to tickets purchased by mistake.
As the organiser, we do not bear the risk for individual personal reasons for which you are unable to attend an event. This also applies to medically certified illnesses. When purchasing tickets, each guest bears the personal risk of not being able to attend the event on the specified date for personal or health reasons.
If you realise at an early stage that you are unable to attend the event for health or other reasons, you can resell your tickets/e-tickets, provided that the tickets are only passed on at the original price or cheaper. Each ticket/e-ticket is issued in the name of the purchaser. This does NOT have to be exchanged in the event of a sale. The only decisive factor at the entrance is that each ticket/e-ticket is only printed out or presented once. When purchasing tickets via Facebook or other social media networks, please watch out for so-called ticket scams/frauds.
Reservations are not accepted, neither for tickets, tables and/or seats.
If the event is not sold out, we offer a box office for last-minute guests. You can easily see whether an event is sold out in the respective VVK ticket shop.
